MarineTech is constantly investing in new projects. Some potential projects are at an advanced stage of development and will shortly be launched; others are at a much more embryonic stage. Ballast Water	MarineTech is developing a new initiative to solve problems of ballast water discharge by ships. It is proposed to appraise the commercial and technical feasibility of a range of options. This will be performed as a Joint Industry Project involving ship operators, port operators, equipment suppliers and regulatory bodies.
Biosensors	MarineTech is developing a range of activities which hope to stimulate advances in marine biosensor technologies. These will permit cost-effective distributed sensor networks to be deployed, within a coastal zone environmental monitoring strategy.
